- I am King Charles 1 and I believe that my opinion is the only one that matters!
- I am a cavalier and I defend King Charles 1
- I am a Roundhead and I fight for Oliver Cromwell. We don't want a king!
- KILL HIM !!!KILL HIM !!!
- Charles 1 was king of England and thought that he could make decisions without speaking to anybody else. Only his opinion mattered.
- The Roundheads were supporters of the government and wanted to start a civil war against the cavaliers because they did not want a king any more.
- King Charles was convicted of treason and executed on 30 January 1649 outside the Banqueting House in Whitehall. Oliver Cromwell ruled England under a protectorate.
- After Oliver Cromwell's death, Charles II was then made king. Charles 11 learnt not to go against the power of the parliament. in a time called the restoration.
- When Charles II died his brother James II became king in 1685. He was Catholic so parliament were not so sure about it. Protestant English nobles supported William of Orange and Mary of Orange (King James 11 daughter) to take over England.
- William of Orange and Mary of Orange wanted to become Kind and Queen of England. James II was defeated at the Battle of the Boyne, Ireland in July 1690.
