- This story demonstrates an underlying principle of our family. Family love is unconditional. Despite the fact that Chris's wife Dawna has completely separated herself from our family after Chris's passing, we still love and think of her like everyone else. We continue to send her invites to gatherings and we send yearly Christmas and birthday cards even though we know she's unlikely to respond.
