He asked France to lend some land but The leader of France named Napoleon thought they needed land for their people but after more thinking they agreed because they were in need for a lot of money since they just had a war with Britain.

Thomas Jefferson wanted a crew to explore the west so in 1804 he he hired Lewis and Clark and told them to find a route to the Pacific Ocean. And between the journey they even met a native American named Sacagawea
The Oregon Trail 1843-1870
The Indian Removal Act was signed by President Andrew Jackson in 1803. It meant that all the Indian tribes had to leave their home land and go to Oklahoma. While all the Native Indians were moving out of their land many died by dieses . That's why we call that event Trail Of Tears.
California Goldrush
The battle of Alamo took place in Texas. Texas used to be Mexico's territory but after more and more settlers came into Texas they claimed it as theirs. It was a 13 day battle and when it ended no almost all the settlers were killed including Davy Crocket. (The settlers won Texas in another battle)

The Oregon trail most people used to go west of the United States. But the trail did have many setbacks. there were dieses, bad water and many other bad stuff. The most deadly dieses was Cholera you get it if you drink bad water and eat not clean food.
The California gold rush drew many people from East. Not even miners came to get gold, bankers, bakers even Farmers came to see the gold rush. Since it happened, things have been more costly. Like a pare of shoes cost five gold nuggets!
