- Hey daddy. Can we please have a foreign exchange student come stay with us? It would be great for a real South African to come and stay with us.
- Well, if you want to have an exchange student stay with us that badly, I suppose that's alright.
- Yay! Thank you daddy!
- Dad, can I please do the foreign exchange student program? It's only for a few months, and the cost isn't that bad. Plus there are so many benefits for me if I go there.
- Maybe. If I say yes can I please eat? I'm starving!
- Thank you daddy!
- That's because people aren't birds, Flora. The things you say sometimes.
- When I was a little girl, I would watch them build their nests. Inside those nests were smaller nests, where their families lived. There were so many different colors. They would work together and help each other, and they would never fight. I wonder why people can't be more like them.
- Look what I just caught! Isn't it pretty? The bird book calls it a weaver bird.
- Dellums. I'm Roscoe, and this is my daughter, Piper. He's at work. You'll meet him soon. We can stop by on our way to the house.
- Yes; I was supposed to be met by the Congressman Dee-Looms and his family.
- That can't be her. She's white. Mahree Bok? The exchange student? The exchange student from Dundee, South Africa?
