Storyboard Text

  • First part until the TITLE is meant to be as a little dream
  • Hands in close up. Someone is drawing on them "Anne" with Japanese pencil. We cannot see nothing more but hands.
  • Anne is turning her hands. In the inner side of her palms there is a drawing of Sakura tree.
  • Anne is putting her hands under running water and the paint is slowly running away. Then camera is turning to her face.
  • Anne reacts the way she does.. Then she closes her eyes.
  • Sakura trees. Wind blows. Birds. THE TITLE
  • This scene is meant to be as natural as possible until the 3 'sequence'
  • Water is running. We can hear Anne turning on radio. Then she comes up, stops the water and gets into the bathtub.
  • Anne in a bathtub. Listening to King's Haralds Nytaarstale 1 part and 2 part. Last part will come in the very end of the film.
  • Here we get into a 'dream' and inner world of Anne again
  • Anne in a bathtub. Golden fishes are swimming around her head. We hear her voice. She is telling her story
  • When Anne is closing her eyes in the bathtub, she opens eyes laying on the blanket under the Sakura tree. She keeps telling her story. Most importantly about her colourful dress!!
  • When after finishes her own story, she starts talking about "Cherry Blossoms". She tells the plot and story is illustrated with cover pictures taken from the actual film and the pictures of the reactions of Anne when she is watching the film
  • Karsten (film professor and her personal friend who helped during the hard times) talking to Anne about her situation, film power and symbols. In other words DREAM vs. REALITY
  • Very End of the film
  • Dream that becomes reality in the end
  • Anne is again in the bathtub. This time with full make up and her colourful dress. It starts from the same shot as it ended in the first part. We hear the last part of king's speech: "Det er opp til oss å velge hvilken kraft som skal få styre våre handlinger. Det er opp til hver enkelt å finne sin livsoppgave. Det er opp til hver enkelt av oss å bli den vi ble født til å være". Anne is smiling peacefully. She has GOT the message.
  • We come back to the same hand writing "Til Bent". On the other side it is already written: 'Vend dit ansigt mod solen, og skyggen falder bag dig'. - Maorisk ordsprog
  • Dream and reality meets
  • When ending texts are rolling, we see Anne on a sunny day sitting on a bench with a lady in traditional Japanese clothing. They are chatting, laughing and facing the sun.
