- We are so smart. Another triumvirate is just what this city needs! (senator 1)
- With the failure of the first triumvirate, the senate decided to try again and form another using Marc Antony, Caesarsadopted son Octavian, and Ledipus!
- Yup! Lets just hope they don't go against each other again... (senator 2)
- With these men forming a new partnership, Octavian and Antony discusswho would take over certain parts of Rome.
- I think its best if i take the east side of Greece, Asia Minor, AND Egypt. Ledipus can have North Africa.
- Alright... then I'll take over the western portion!
- But once again, this division of powerdid not last very long and Atony beganto see Octavian as a threat to his powerthat he so desperately craved.
- How on earth do I get rid of this brat?...
- In 32 BCE, Octavian decided to usepropaganda to communicate with his followers and so they should see him asa better ruler than Marc Antony.
- People of Rome, please consider me as the better ruler than Marc Antony. I promise our nation will become powerful if you all would trust me!
- A glimpse into the past...
- Cicero was a great philosopher and wasknown for trying to overthrow the Catilinarian conspiracy!
- IF you don't know what the Catilinarian conspiracy is, its basically where Catiline wanted to overthrow the government so he could rule Rome. And I should know because I stopped him from doing so!
- Cicero would make speeches to embarrass Catiline and in 63 BCE, Cicero was elected Consul.
- PEOPLE OF ROME CATILINE ISN'T WHO YOU THINK HE IS! HE NEEDS TO BE PUT IN HIS PLACE!!
- Cicero then discovered that Catiline wassending letters to other men in Romeplanning his takeover. Cicero then copiedthe letters and exposed Catiline and sentenced him to death. Cicero was thenseen as guilty for not giving Catiline atrial.
- THIS IS ABSURD! I SHOUDLN'T BE KILLED FOR HELPING SAVE ROME!!
- Before the death of Cicero, Marc Antonywas his political opponent and he wantedto take him down. Of course Antony foundout, so he killed him.
- HAH WHAT A BIG LOSER! He should know that I am way more powerful then him so obviously I win! I hope his hands have a nice time in the sun where EVERYONE can see them HAHA!
- After the death of Cicero, Octavian suspected Antony was getting a LITTLE too close with the queen of Egypt,Cleopatra. Then he found out Antony gaveher all eastern provinces in his will.
- How dare Antony betray us by giving Cleopatra OUR land!
- And so the senate agreed to let Octavian go to war against Cleopatra AND Antony.
- SOLDIERS! WE ARE OFF TO EXECUTE THE TRAITOR KNOWN AS MARC ANTONY! HE AND CLEOPATRA WILL PAY!!
- In 31 BCE, the battle of Actium was a big win for the Romans and soon after that, Antony and Cleopatra committed suicide.
- MEN! I HAVE DEFEATED MARC ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA. This also means that I am now the official ruler of Rome!
- In the year 27 BCE, Octavian, or better known as Augustus Caesar became the first emperor of Rome.
- I promise to always bring greatness to the city of Rome and make sure that we stay all mighty and powerful!
- And for the long years that he served asemperor, he never broke his promise to his people and eventually became known as "Prince of Peace".
