Storyboard Text

  • The candles show the light of Christ, and the book that the deacon carries shoes how God's word leads us.
  • The entrance procession:  The priest starts in the back of the church to walk up to the alter. This represents our journey on earth, led by Christ, to heaven, which is the alter. Carrying the cross represents how we are led by Christ
  • This represents the sign of the cross. These peoples actions are showing what it reminds us of.
  • When we do the sign of the cross, we recognize the Trinity and remember our baptism.
  • The 2nd person is in a loving position. We are all meant to love God. The 3rd is in a walking position. We are meant to serve God.
  • The 1st person is in a thinking position. When we do the sign of the cross in the beginning of mass, we are reminded we are meant to know God.
  • This echos the angels after Christ was born. We should recognize and praise God in everything we do throughout our daily lives. This is just a reminder for us during the mass of how Great our God is.

  • It is how we praise God for who God is. It is done on Sundays & major feast days, but not during lent.
  • The priest washes his hands and this represents how we need to be clean to receive Christ in our daily life.
  • In the offertory, the bread, wine, and water is walked from the back to the front of the representing our pilgrimage & how we are offering ourselves to God. The Priest mixes water & wine symbolizing Christ humanity and divinity & this shows us how God gives us a share in the Divine life.
  • During the acclamation, we praise God through the Holy song. This echos palm Sunday (which is represented with the scene, Jesus entering the town), & the angles & saints in heaven.
  • When we say the rite of peace, it reminds us of Easter night.
  • When we say the Lord's prayer, we are affirming that we are daughters & sons of God & that he is our father & that we can look to God as our father figure throughout our day & our troubles.  Christ is present with us, so we can have peace.
