Macbeth is walking with Banquo on an empty field until they come across three witches. They make two prophecies (predictions): Macbeth will become Thane of Cawdor and he will also become King of Scotland.
Duncan (the king) makes Macbeth the Thane of Cawdor. Duncan tells Macbeth that he will will visit his castle.
Macbeth tells Lady Macbeth about the prophecies. She gets exited about Macbeth becoming king, so she tells Macbeth that he has to kill Duncan when he stays the night.
Duncan arrives at Macbeth's Castle. That night, Macbeth murders Duncan after Lady Macbeth convinced him to. Then, Lady Macbeth puts the murder weapon in the sleeping servant's hands. Macbeth is now king. However, Macbeth feels that he cannot trust Banquo and therefore kills him.
Lady Macbeth holds a banquet, at this banquet Macbeth think that he sees the ghost of Banquo at the table.
Macbeth was a cruel king and believed everybody was plotting against him, particularly Lord Macduff. Macbeth sent soldiers out to kill him, however, he got away and his wife and children were killed instead, Then, Macbeth returned to the witches and asked what would happen, the witches told him that no man born of woman would be able to kill him. In the meanwhile, Lady Macbeth was mad with guilt and killed herself. Macduff was born through c-section and thus was able to kill Macbeth.
