- Sacco and Vanzetti trial reflected our fears of immigration, immigrant crime, and anarchy.

- Fear of communism suddenly grabbed the American people after the communists took power in Russia. Innocent people were jailed, civil liberties were ignored. Many Americans feared that a Bolshevik style revolution was at hand.
- Anti- immigration (Emergency Quota Act)

- Can be shown through immigration restriction, the Red Scare, and the cases of Sacco and Vanzetti. America was extremely anti-immigrant and blamed their problems on the foreigners. Several immigration restriction laws were passed that lowered the number of immigrants to the United States and limited the number of immigrants from certain countries.
- KKK
- Hunted down suspected Communists, socialists, and anarchists. Raided their homes, deported hundreds, but failed to turn up any evidence of "revolutionary conspiracy".
- Sacco & Vanzetti were anarchists, believing that social justice would only come through destruction of governments.
- Established the max. number of people who could enter the US from a foreign country.Limited immigration from each European nation to 3% of the number currently living in the US before 1890.
- GATE

- Rise of the KKK reflected white America's fear that minority groups would eventually take over America. Fear was born from the rise in population of immigrants and American blacks, coupled with the change in America politics to give these minority groups equal rights and jobs.
