The battle of Hastings!

- I am King now, all must bow to me!!!
- Noooooooo!!!!
- King Edward the Confessor
- Come on troops, let us win this battle and triumph over these puny English men!
- Really...Puffed...Out!
- King Edward the Confessor dies and Harold Godwinson is crowned king. The world still holds it breath though as there are plenty of battles seen on the horizon of future.
- Ok troops, I have a plan now. So we pretend to be retreating so that they hopefully follow and then you turn around and surround them this will also break up the shield wall.
- What Harold Godwinson didn't know, is that William of Normandy was sailing to England. After being delayed by a storm and making the wise decision to stay home, William was all powered up and ready to go.
- So modest King William
- When arrived at the battle field, Harold Godwinson's men had positioned themselves at the top of the hill in a shield wall. After a try William's troops realised that they couldn't just charge up it, while they thought, their archers had a go.
- Thank you very much! I think that it was just luck to be honest.
- William explained his plan and everyone crossed their fingers and toes hoping for the plan to work.
- The plan works! Harold's army falls for it and travels down the hill, like lightning the Norman's double back and stab them. Later Harold Godwinson was also found dead with an arrow in his eye- or so they say!
- William won the battle of Hastings and was crowned King of England, it was partly down to luck and partly down to his great plan of reatreating.
