Storyboard Text

  • Hello primary students and teachers! A warm welcome to everyone and hope you all are great. Today is the day we have been waiting for all month! Yes, today is the announcement for the news letter. For primary grades, this month they did chapters like large numbers and basic geometry.
  • 1st grade and 2nd have done a activity for large numbers. The activity is that they have 4 students in their group and have to make a 4 or 5 digit number. Example on the board
  • you can see that the 'students' have a number. The first one on the left says seven thousand, next says eight hundred, next says seventy and next says forty
  • Grade 6 got an activity to make angles, points and all the topics for geometry by their hands, a few examples are here.
  • The students found these chapters very interesting. Let us also see what was so interesting?
  • Large numbers is a very easy topic. When learning large numbers we mainly have to know how to form numbers on a place value chart. We have to put them 1 by 1 from the left to the right in the place value chart. We should also be knowing how to resemble them in the 3 forms. This is very basic and easy. There are many properties for numbers which are very important like commutative property and associative property and many more. Commutative property says that even when changing the order of the operation we are doing the answer does not change. This is only for multiplication and division. Associative property means that when we have to multiply or add 3 numbers, we group 2 and get the answer then we add or multiply with the other for eg: (2+2) 4. We first add 2+2=4 then add with 4= 8There are many more properties
  • Thank you everyone for being here, I hope you liked this newsletter for the month and hope to see you in the next one! Bye stay safe!
  • In geometry there are many topics. We start with points, lines, rays, line segments and then start with angles. The types of angles and how to measure them. This is a big topic. It tells us how to draw a line segment, angle and they even used the compass for the first time! This is for sure on why they like it! Even though it was hard, students said they loved the experience to get a geometry box which had so many things! The chapter was also filled with activities. They learned the different types of lines, points and angles.
