  • The Stamp Act was supposed to increase the income to make the amount of money since they lost a lot from the British War. So they put direct taxation on payments. People refused to buy stamps. Thats how the Stamp Act formed.
  • Boston Tea Party
  • The Townshend Acts were 4 acts that were passed by the British Parliament. They tried to apply power over the colonies. These acts held out against violence. merchants, and evasion of duties. In October of 1768, parliament sent a unit of the British army to Boston.
  • Intolerable Acts
  • The Boston Massacre is a deadly riot that occurred on March 5, 1770. The riot was between the American Colonists and a lone British Soldier. This riot was threatened and killed five people. The soldiers were charged with murder. They also had to go in trial.

  • The Boston Tea Party put taxes on tea in December 16, 1773. The American Colonists were frustrated at the British for putting taxation without representation. So they dumped 320 boxes.

  • The Intolerable Acts lasted from March 1773 through June 1774. The British Parliament authorized 4 measures that became the intolerable acts. The intolerable acts consist of the Boston Port Act, Massachusetts Government Act, Administration of Justice Act, and the Quartering Act.
