- Barry is at his house, and his dad tells the family there will be a hurricane. A mandatory evacuation is announced.
- CLIMAX
- Because of Hurricane Katrina the family is going to their cousins house in Houston, but they can't because Cleo, Barry's sister, gets sick. The conflict is Barry's family surviving Hurricane Katrina.
- FALLING ACTION
- The rain starts at 10pm. Barry wakes up at 7:15am with rain up to his knees. The levees break and water floods the 9th Ward. Barry's family goes to the attic then roof. Barry's sister tries to jump into the water. He saves her.
- RESOLUTION
- Barry falls into the water while saving his sister. He is swept away. His family is unable to rescue him.
- Barry grabs onto a tree. He climbs into a flooded house and saves Cruz, the dog. Cruz fights snakes in the water. Barry and Cruz end up on a car in the water where they jump onto a house roof.
- Nell, a search and rescue person, saves Barry and Cruz. She brings them to the St. Cloud bridge where they reunite with Barry's family.
