- Premiered December 31st, 1879Frederic must serve on a ship to a band of pirates until his 21st birthday. However, because his birthday is February 29th, this actually means he must serve for an additional 63 years. He falls in love with Mabel, daughter of Mayor-General Stanley. Mabel loves Frederic enough to wait for his service to end. ridiculed unqualified authority figures
- The Pirates of Penzance
- Premiered 1885ridiculed English bureaucracy disguised with a Japanese setting Ko-Ko is promoted to Lord High Executioner in Titipu. Ko-Ko loves Yum-Yum, but Yum-Yum loves the Mikado's son. Ko-Ko is too timid to carry out any executions, leading him to try to misdirect the Mikado on his way to Titipu.
- The Mikado
- Premiered November 17th, 1877Alexis believes love can level all social ranks. He invites a sorcerer to create a love potion. As a result, everyone in the village falls in love with the first person they see, leading to a few very mismatched couples. The sorcerer must sacrifice his life to undo the damage.
