Storyboard Text

  • Ugh! Why am I getting all red and sun burnt? I'm trying to tan!
  • You're burning because you didn't put sunscreen on!
  • The sun produces UV radiation. It can change your skin color, damage your eyes, and result in bad health effects. That's why your skin is turning red. Sunscreen can prevent UV damage.
  • Why do I need to wear sunscreen?
  • One long term effect is skin cancer. It's the abnormal growth of skin cells. When you're exposed to extreme  UV radiation, your skin cells start to multiply and can form tumors.
  • Oh! So that's why I got sun burnt!  What if I don't wear sun screen? What bad things could happen?
  • Ow! My skin is really starting to hurt! Let's go home.
  • Good Idea. We can treat the burn when we get there.
  • First, you should take a cold bath or shower to help relieve the pain. Also use some of this moisturizer that contains aloe. It will help soothe your burn.
  • What do I use to treat my sun burn?
  • Thanks! Next time I'll know what to do to treat my sun burn!
  • No problem!
