Storyboard Text
- Jonas, his parents, Lily, Asher, and Gabriel are introduced. The society has lots of rules, which all citizens must obey.

- The Ceremony of 12 is in a few days, and Jonas is anxious to receive his assignment. He meets Gabriel, a newchild from the nurturing center, who has light eyes like Jonas'.
- Jonas begins seeing small changes in things, little flickers that only last moments. It begins with an apple at the Rec. Center. His "stirrings" start, and he begins taking the daily pill.

- During The Ceremony of 12, Jonas gets selected as The Receiver of Memory.

- Resolution
- The Giver giver Jonas his first memory, and keeps giving him good memories, but eventually has to give him bad ones. He starts to recognize color.
- Jonas finds out what Release actually is after watching his father Release a twin He finds out that Gabriel with be Released.
- Falling Action
- WELCOME TO ELSEWHERE
- Jonas gets Gabriel, and they leave the community to go to Elsewhere. He takes on a role of a parent to Gabriel.
