- This was when the president Harry Truman decided to make a document to provide aid to all countries contained under communism.
- Cuban missile crisis
- This wall was made to contain people from moving west after a population of 17 million had escaped. The Berlin Airlift carried supplies to the people of West Berlin.
- Korean War
- The space race was when the Soviet Union and the USA competed to see who got to the moon 1st. Obviously the USA got their 1st. Although the USA made it to the moon first, the soviet union launched the first satellite called Sputnik.
- Vietnam War
- This was when the Soviet Union began to plant missiles in Cuba and the USA didn't like this. After 13 tense days, the Soviet Union agreed to remove the nuclear missiles. John F. Kennedy and the rest of the USA calmed down after.
- This was was between North and South Korea. the Soviet Union supported North Korea and the United States supported South Korea. This was because Soviet Union supported North Korea and the USA supported South Korea. The USA did not like that there was containment of people in the Soviet Union.
- This was a war between South and communist North Vietnam. The north was supported by communist countries that contained people and the South was supported by the USA. The Viet Cong were Vietnamizes people that actually supported the South (USA). In this war The USA had lost.
