- Battle of Marathon
- Ahah! they Dont know what they just did!
- we must defend our land men! CHARGEE!
- It's make your mamma proud time!
- we have to win!
- Victory for Athens
- Pheidippides run back to Athens and tell them the news!
- yes Sr! that's 25 miles but I can do it!
- Start of Thermopylae
- your majesty I've been sent to warn you that Xerxes I is headed with an army!
- we must send an army now to Valley of Tempe! 10,000 should do!
- no, we must think this through. I am king and it must be done right. they are a big army.
- hmm.. these peoples motives are suspicious.
- The son of Darius?! why that little...
- On the right we have the Persians and Athenians on the left, in their first Battle of Marathon. the Persians where lead by Darius, Hippias and Artaphere. Athenians were lead by Miltaiades. the Persians wanted to defeat the Greek city-states that supported the uprisings Ionia.
- The battle of Thermopylae
- (in unison) we must not back down!
- The Athenians won the battle and Miltiades told Pheidippides to deliver the news. This inspired the creation of the Marathon. The first Persian invasion of Greese was faught on Marathon plain of Northeastern Attoca and marked the first blows of the Greece persian war.
- Xerxes Overrun Much of Greece
- now that I am kind I must concur more of Greece!
- After hearing the news Greece's initial reaction was to send 10,000 to valley of Tempe near mount Olympus, but changed their minds after hearing the size of the offenders. Greek city-states decided to send a join army between 6,000 and 7,000 to Thermopylae to defend after much discussion an compromise.
- Battle of Salamis
- The Persians waited 4 days with 80,000 troupes, expecting the Greeks to retreat when the didn't. Xerxes I gave the Greeks a change to surrender without bloodshed but King Leonidas said he'd rather fight. the Greeks where betrayed and Leonidas and his army were defeated and killed.
- retreat! retreat!
- Ahah! Good work men! We accomplished what my father could not!
- Xerxes became king and went on a rampage they had overrun much of Greece.
- that what you think anyways...
- The Greek commander Themistocles lured the Persian fleet into Salamis. Greek attacked Furiously Xerxes had to postpone his plan. This was the fist great naval battle.
- My plan to lure the Persians out to sea to fight worked haha we won!
