  • Stamp act
  • i think that the stamp act is fair because paying off the debt from the war will help us.
  • why would you agree on the stamp act it is not fair why should they tax us when we have no say in Parliament
  • How do you feel about soldiers living in your house? I think it is fair because they are protecting us and deserve nice housing and bedding. Also because if they had to built housing for the soldiers we would be taxed more
  • Quartering act
  • i do not like that the soldiers are in my house because it is a random person, I have to pay more for stuff because there is more people in my house
  • The Townshend acts
  • I did not think that we had to be taxed more. They are now taxing glass, paper, paint, lead and tea.

  • In 1756 George Grenville required colonists to buy a stamp for every piece of paper they used. Newspapers, wills, licenses, and even playing cards had to be printed on stamped paper. this happened because the colonist had to pay for the cost of protecting them from the Indians
  • The Boston Massacre

  • This is not fair everywhere are troops and that means we would have to give up our homes for them
  • In 1765 a law passed by parliament was that your were to provide British troops with housing. The colonists were also told to provide the soldiers with “candles, firing, bedding, cooking utensils, salt, vinegar, and beer or cider.”
  • The Boston tea party
  • This is were those people who dressed up as Indians dumped all that tea and i think it was right they were charring us to much for it
  • I do not think it was ok because we are now in trouble and will get a punishment and we might not be able to have tea anymore
  • in 1767 Charles Townshend he persuaded parliament to pass the Townshend acts, but the new laws placed a tax on goods that colonies imported from great Britain such as glass, paint, paper, lead and tea
  • The intolerable acts
  • Did you hear about the new rules that we have because of the Boston tea party. I agree with them we deserve these rules because we did something really bad
  • i do not agree with you there was only some people who did it and not us people that did not do it they should get trouble not us
  • On March 5 1770 a small riot of colonists that were not happy about the new soldiers that were sent to Boston. They threw Ice balls and rocks at the red coats and the red coats panicked and shot into the crowd killing 5 colonists. Supporters would say: loyalists would say that the crowd was told to go home and they didn’t listen. The cops were being attacked first (self defense)Opponents would say: patriots would say get these soldiers out of our city. There is no was this is peace time. No need for soldiers
  • On December 16 1773 in Boston on one night sons of liberty Dressed up as Mohawk Indians and boarded three ships full of tea and dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the harbor. They did this because they taxed tea and did not give the a say in parliament
  • On 1774 there were new laws about what happened at the Boston tea party. Nothing is coming in or going out of the Boston harbor until you pay for the damage from the tea party, No more unauthorized meetings. You were at a meeting that cased this so we will regulate, New quartering act because more law enforcement is obviously needed, any British government officials must be sent to England for trial if they are accused of a crime because I don’t trust you.
