  • What did John Calvin want to change?
  • We don't need the bible! We already know the real truth in our minds
  • Oh No! this is not right, my people must know the truth, the real truth. I will fix this! I will preach people in the Catholic Churches and teach them rights and truths of our God
  • John Calvin was born on the 10th of July 1509 in Noyon, France. Calvin lived in Geneva for some time until 1538, where the anti - protestant authorities forced him to leave. However, he was invited back in 1541. John died in Geneva, Switzerland May 27th, 1564.
  • Where did his actions take place?
  • In 1536, he published his first landmark text institutes of the christian religion. His book was an early strive to standardise the assumption of Protestantism.
  • Change
  • So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."
  • John Calvin beloved that the church had gotten distance from the truth out of the bible. He believed the only truth spoken was from the bible and the priest and pope were abusing their power in the catholic community. As life continued he confessed his disagreement with the roman Catholic teachings

  • For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • John Calvins ideas originated in Noyon France and the preaching was done in secret. During Calvins time spent in Geneva, the preaching was open and not done is disguise. His preaching took place in a Catholic Church welcome to anyone in the community.

  • John Calvin translated the Hebrew bible into and German bible. As his changes in the catholic community became a big part of peoples life he continued to translate the bible into an English bible.
  • John Calvins changes has had mass of changes on peoples life today. He believed that the Priest and Pope were expanding the truth of the bible and changing the community belief so he took a chance and changed the way the bible was viewed. Today, when doing a prayer we referred t back to the bible and read a quotes from the bible and referencing the quotes form our god. the quotes from the bible are the truth just what John Calvin wanted us to hear.
