- In letters, three and four Walton is very confident with his journey to the North Pole and thinks that there is no way they will not succeed.
- “And did the man whom you pursued travel in the same fashion?”(shelly 21)

- In chapter one Beauford gets sick and Alphonse and Beaufords daughter takes care of him until he passes away and Alphones marries his daughter.

- In chapter 2 Victor tells us how he grew up with Elizabeth and has a good friendship with Clerval . He also find a book that sparks his interest in science and philosophy. He sees how nature can destroy when lightning hits a tree in a storm.
- We are to be married
- In chapter 3 victor goes off to University right after his mother dies. When he ets to university he sets up meetings with 2 processors and; while one of them is odd he very much likes the other.
- Now I can focus on my scientific studies
- I shall create life, I am so close!
- In chapter 4 Victor trows himself into his studies and stays in his apartment working on his creation of life and experiments.
