- This is based on a true story of my own mother. She had cancer and no health coverage.
- Well dear, it's not good. It came back malignant
- What does this mean? When can you start treatment?
- My mother had to forgo treatment for a couple months while we searched for options
- Unfortunately, the cost of surgery and treatment after is not affordable without healthcare.
- WHAT DO WE DO?! There has to be something!
- I remember my mother coming home extremely upset because she could not afford the costs out of pocket.
- I am not sure. The estimated cost of the hysterectomy is $8,000 and the chemo + radiation is anywhere from $10,000 and up.
- No, I am going to do some searching! We will find answers for affordable treatment!
- I had to search for a lot of options for my mother - anything to help her afford treatment.

- We can look into Medicaid, Obamacare,or TrumpCare.
- According to the Medicaid website, as long as you make under $1,563 a month, you will qualify.
- Obamacare was not in place until 2012, Trumpcare still has not been passed. At the time, the only thing my mother qualified for was medicaid.
- Sadly, I make under that.If there was funding for free healthcare, patients like myself, would not be placed in this predicament.

- I helped my mother enroll for Medicaid. She was concerned about the premium and we looked into unemployment after her surgery.
- YAY! Things are looking up. I know there will be a premium still. I wonder how to cover it without my job.
