- around 6.6% of the U.S population experiences major depressive disorder each year
- So many people say things for attention these days, theres no way those numbers are right
- That's kind of harsh Mindy, you don't know what people are going through
- What Mindy didn't know was that Josh was recently diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder after Emma told his mother she was noticing symptoms.
- Josh had been experiencing insomnia, lack of concentration, feelings of hopelessness, loss of appetite, and even quit the basketball team.
- Me: My mom is making me babysit my sister tonight kms
- Since Mindy doesn't know about Josh's diagnosis, she says things that may be harmful
- Emma knows that Mindy's words are making it harder for Josh to accept his diagnosis and get help.
- Yeah, I think you're right
- Josh, I think it's time you talk to someone
- I'm already on Zoloft but I still feel lost with my own mind. I need more help.
- That's what I'm here for, we can start cognitive therapy to help you understand your thoughts and we'll get you feeling better.

- With the help of a supportive friend, medication, and cognitive therapy; Josh is enjoying life again.
