- Hi, my name is Demeter and I am the goddess of harvest.
- My name is Persephone. I am the daughter of Demeter, the goddess of harvest. Also, I am a spring maiden.
- Hi, my name is Hades. I am looking for a queen to rule the Underworld with me.
- One day, Persephone was out walking in the meadow. Then, the rocks and valleys rang with the sound of laughter, and Hades heard it as he sat on his throne in the Underground, in the dark land of the dead.
- When, Hades heard all of the laughter his heart was even touched by her young beauty, so he arose in his awful majesty and came up to Olympus to ask Zeus, God of Love, if he might have Persephone to wife.
- "Yes, you may have Persephone to wife, in the Underground."
- "I was wondering if I can have Persephone to wife?"
- A little after Hades asked Zeus to have Persephone to wife, Persephone was in the meadow gathering flowers with other maidens. Well after she started gathering some more flowers and got a little bit too far from the others, and when she got a little farther away she saw this marvelous flower. The flower was narcissus, purple, and white.
- When she reached for the flower, she was snatched up by a stranger's arms. After she was snatched she was taken to the Underground with Hades, she was so lost. Hades was far stronger than Persephone to mess with.
- Once Demeter found out about Persephone being taken she was so worried about her daughter. After a few minutes she had asked everyone if they have seen her or not. When she came around to Phoebus Apollo, who sees all things from his chariot in the heavens.
- "Have you seen my daughter?"
- "Yes, I have seen your daughter. Hades has taken her with the consent of Zeus, that she may dwell in the land of mist and gloom as his queen. The girl struggled and was unwilling, but Hades is far stronger than she."
- When she heard this she went away from the homes of the of people , since the sight of little children and happy mothers gave her pain. One day, as she sat by the well to rest her feet she came upon this kindhearted and charming family. Since she didn't want anyone knowing she had lost her daughter, she told them that she was a woman of good family from Crete across the sea, who had been captured by pirates and was to have been sold for a slave, She had escaped as they landed once to cook a meal on shore, and now she was wandering to find work. She figured out that once she had left the harvest was going dead. People were starving.
- "I am going to make you immortal, just like me."
- After time had past, Demeter had found a way to make Demophoon immortal. She was caught in action of making him immortal by Metaneira. Persephone was home and when she got home, Demeter had seen her daughter. Metaneira was furious with Demeter.
- She said she had eaten seven seeds of pomegranate, which means she has to stay with Hades, in the Underground ,for seven months of the year and five remaining months with her mother. Persephone was asked one question by her mom, which was if she had ate any of the food that he tried to give her.
