Storyboard Text
- Demeter was the goddess of harvest. She granted the mortals wheat and grains.
- "The people shall never go hungry!"
- Demeter had a beautiful daughter, whom she cherished, the went by the name Persephone. She was the lovely spring maiden
- "The world is a beautiful place, don't you think?"
- Everyone loved the youthful, playful Persephone. Even Hades. So much so that he asked Zues if Persephone could be his wife.
- "Hey, uhh I was thinking... could I marry Persephone?"
- "Sure thing bro!"
- One nice day Persephone and her maidens were admiring the beautiful flowers. Persephone saw a lovely purple one and approached it.
- "Wow, what a beautiful flower. I wonder if it is a...."
- "Oh my...where in the world am I?"
- Little did she know it was a trap to the underworld where Hades caught her as she fell through the ground.
- "You're not in the world at all my dear. Your're in the underworld."
- "Have you any idea where my daughter has gone?"
- Demeter did not know where Persephone had gone. She asked everyone if they knew where her daughter was. No one did, except Apollo.
- "I'm sorry to tell you this, but she has become Hades wife in the underworld."
- Demeter mourned her daughter so much so that she turned herself into a lonely mortal.
- "I can not deal with the pain of my daughter gone."
- "Why, thank you. "
- Until one day two young girls came to her and told her that there mother was in need of a nurse for her baby. Demeter agreed to the job.
- Our mother is in need of a nurse, if you would like to stay with us.
- Demeter began to love and care for the baby as if it were her own. She wanted to make the baby immortal like her
- "You remind me of my immortal daughter. Maybe you could become my immortal daughter."
- Since Demeter, the goddess of harvest, was busy with a baby nothing was harvesting. A famine happened because no plants were growing.
- Need....food...now.
- Demeter left the baby. When she left, Zeus realized that nobody had crops. He sent Iris after her to convince her to come back to Mt. Olympus. Demeter said she wouldn't unless she could see her daughter.
- "I won't consider it unless I have my daughter back."
- "Please come back. We really need you."
- Hermes went and told Persephone that she could go back to earth with her mother. Persephone was really excited, Hades...not so much.
- "It is my order from the great god Zeus that Persephone has to come back to earth with me"
- "Here is a treat to wish you a great time back on earth. You should come back some time."
- Persephone had not eaten anything while she was in the underworld. She was so excited that she was going to leave that she accepted a pomegranate from Hades and ate 7 seeds.
- "Thanks."
- When daughter and mother reunited, Demeter asked Persephone if she had eaten anything. Persehone had eaten 7 seeds of a pomegranate which meant she would have to stay in the underworld for 7 months of every year.
- Only seven pomegranate seeds.
- "You didn't eat anything, did you?"
- There is the origin of the seasons. Spring, summer, fall, and winter
