- Demeter, Earth's great mother.She was in charge of all nature.She was the goddess whom men called the great mother because of her generosity in give to the Earth and its people.
- For it is I whome fills all ears with grain and It is I who tells all farmers when it is time for crops to be harvested or for it is time for thy to be plowed.
- Persephone, she was the spring maiden.She lived in Sicily young and full of joy she was.In Sicily the flowers were spring and abundant.She was beautiful.
- "Oh ,what lovely flowers." she giggled with all her fellow friends.
- For when Persephone laughed, Hades himself way far in the land of the dead heard it. For Hades heart, had also been touched by this young beuauty.
- Hades thought she was so beautiful that he proceeded to ask Olympus and Zeus if he could have Persephone to wife. Olympus thundered his bults as a yes ,and Zeus bowed his head in agreement.
- "I ask for your acceptance on me marring the young daughter of Demeter.",said Hades in a stern voice.
- By now Persephone had already wondered from her group and had saw the most beautiful flower.She urged to get it.As she reached her hand out to picl one she fell into a whole and was caught by Hades!
- "Oh, what the most beautiful of flowers!"Persephone said with joy.
- Hades threw her inside a golden carriage and sped off.
- "NO miss."
- When Demeter found out her daughter was missing she went everywere asking everyone have they saw or did theyknow were she was.
- "Has anyone seen my daughter,her name is Persephone!"
- "No miss if I saw her I will be sure to take care of her."
- One day she asked Appollo and he said yes,he had seen her daughter.
- "Yes I have seen your daughter."
- "Hermes I ask you to go to the underworld and retreive Persephone,daughter of Demeter."
- Zeus sent Hermes- of the golden sandals- to bring back Persephone back to the light.
- "Yes'sir."
- While Persephone was in the world of the dead she didnt drink or eat anything.That is until she ate 7 pomegranate seeds right before she left with Hermes.
- "Fine take her,but Persephone at least take Pomegranate to eat."
- "I am here to take Persephone back to Earth."
- Persephone and Demeter were once agin back together but she Persephone had to go back to the underworld because, she ate a fruit from there so she hasd to say 7 more months out of the year.
- No mother.
- Go back Persephone you must be his queen for 7 months.Because, you ate 7 pomegranat seeds.
- For seven months every year Persephone is lost to Demeter.In this time Demeter mourns the Earth is cold,trees shed there leaves,and the Earth lies still and dead.
- Although, in the 8th month Demeter rejoices Demeters return.The Earth's wheat springs up,it is bright,fresh and green.Birds sing and yound animals are born.
