  • California has the largest population in the United States, with approximately 40 million people. Over 12 million of those people live in Los Angeles!
  • Death Valley, part of the Mojave Desert, is located in Eastern California. It is the hottest, driest, and lowest national park. Daytime record high temperatures have reached 127 degrees Fahrenheit four days in a row!
  • The first McDonald's opened in San Bernadino in 1940.
