  • Hi Chen... I Hope you are fine now. Today our Chemistry teacher taught us about the history of one element in the periodic table which is selenium and why it is related on one of the God in Greek mythology.
  • Yes. I am fine now. Can you please explain to me tomorrow?

  • Oh yeah... So the lesson yesterday is about Selenium this is number 34 in the periodic table. It is a nonmetal with properties that are intermediate between the elements above and below in the periodic table!.

  • Jöns Jacob Berzelius discovered selenium in Stockholm in 1817. He had stock in a sulfuric acid plant and was attracted by a red-brown muck that accumulated at the bottom of the acid-making chambers. Also, Selenium is a Greek God “selene” mean the Greek name for the moon
