Jöns Jacob Berzelius discovered selenium in Stockholm in 1817. He had stock in a sulfuric acid plant and was attracted by a red-brown muck that accumulated at the bottom of the acid-making chambers. Also, Selenium is a Greek God “selene” mean the Greek name for the moon
