Long ago lived the Capulets and the Montagues in the city of Verona with a long-standing rivalry between them. They would always fight each other in the streets upon sight,
leading to the prince of Verona declaring one day that whoever starts a fight again would have to be executed. Soon after the Prince's declaration, Lord Capulet hosts a party in honor of the man, Paris, that his daughter Juliet is to marry.
After some confusion with the guest list, Romeo Montague and his friends invite themselves to the party, knowing they shouldn't go or else they could get in trouble. "I'll go along, no such sight to be shown, but to rejoice in splendor of mine own," Romeo says.
Later that day, Romeo goes to the party where he stumbles into Juliet, and they fall in love at first sight. Romeo and Juliet dance through the night, and even share a kiss in secret.
Soon Juliet has to go, and she and Romeo part for the evening, where they soon after find out each other's real identities. Romeo decides that his family doesn't determine who he can love, and he starts visiting Juliet undercover.
In the early morning after the party, Romeo and Juliet decide that they want to be with each other forever and plan to meet later that day to get married. "By the hour of nine," Romeo says Romeo for when she should meet him.
