- JONAH (23 years) is sitting under a dull lit lamp. He is spinning around in his chair, bored. His dinner, cold and untouched is sitting beside him. He is clicking his pen impatiently. The pen clicking resembles a beat.

- He checks his phone. The phone clock reads 8.12pm.

- Jonah gives himself a concentration pep talk.

- Patty's mum goes to poke Jonah, as she does, he begins to awake.

- Jonah is awoken by a dog licking his cheek. In a hungover state, Jonah sits up, realising he is sitting in nothing but his underwear. He looks over at Patty's Mum, confused. He notices the disapproving looks from those walking through the park around him. As he wearily stands, he notices a gash on his stomach. Three strokes of blood cross his abdomen. He examines the gash, confused as he slowly walks towards his home.
- SCENE 5, SONG 4: ROSE'S LAMENT
- Rose is pacing back and forth in the hallway. Worried.She glances at the clock, then the door, her watch and the door again.

- Jonah slowly stumbles through the door. He is now wearing worn out clothes, assumed to be from a donation bin. Rose, shocked at his appearance, runs towards him.

- In a quick swoosh, Jonah puts his hand up signalling Rose to stay away. Confused, Rose tries to step towards him.
