Hi I'm Abraham Lincoln, I'm from Illinois. I want to be your next President! I'm a Republican and I want to STOP the spread of slavery and keep our tariff in place!
Hello, I'm John C. Breckinridge, your current Vice President. I'm America's Southern Democratic candidate from Kentucky. You heard that right! I believe in slavery and secession and I will not take that away from the states!
Hello, I'm John Bell. I'm the candidate for the Constitutional Union Party. I'm from Tennessee, and I don't want to talk about slavery. All we need to discuss in America is: the Constitution, the Union and Enforcing Laws.
Hello, I'm Stephen A. Douglas from Illinois. I I believe in Popular Sovereignty (even though it killed many citizens in Kansas). I want to limit slavery, but not abolish it.
R- Lincoln: While opposing the expansion of slavery, the party platform did not call for it to be abolished. North. D- Douglas:Platform limiting slavery, but didn't abolish it. Called for each state to vote on slavery. South. D- Breckenridge:Called for spread of slavery into new territories. Const. Union- Bell: "recognize no political principle other than the Constitution, the Union, and the Enforcement of the Laws." Hoped to ignore slavery.
I have this in the bag.
Pop. Sov. rocks.. I wonder how Kansas is doing....
No more VP for me
Ahh.. this is finally going to be mine for the next eight years. Slavery is forever!
We are in this together (Northern) America. Take me from the Senate to the Oval.
What is going on here in Kansas? This will cost me the election!
I may have been in the Senate, but I've never heard of this thing called Slavery!
I'm a part of the 81.2% of the people that were eligible to vote during this election. I've heard that this is the highest voter percentage so far in election history!
I'm a citizen from Indiana and I voted for Abraham Lincoln.
I WON! I'm so thankful that the North voted for me because I received no support from the South.
The United States was divided after Lincoln was elected President. The announcement of Lincoln's win signaled the secession of the Southern states.

X = Seceded from the Union
Oh crap.. The South just seceded from the Union. What a great way to start my presidency.
The Civil War
Wow this was an interesting election. I'm glad Lincoln won though because if he didn't we might still have slavery today.
Abraham Lincoln was the perfect President for this time in history. If another President had been elected, Slavery would have been kicked down the road further or the United States would be two countries today.
