  • John Adams was born in 1735 on a farm in Massachusetts.Then he got older and went to Harvard to become a lawyer.

  • Adams got angry about all of the taxation happening and got the Stamp Act taken away in 1766 by writing about his point of view in the newspaper.
  • No more Stamp Act!
  • I am Samuel Adams your cousin. We should form The Sons Of Liberty and fight against the British.
  • The Adams cousins formed a political group called The Sons Of Liberty to gather patriots to talk in a big group to figure their next move.
  • Over the next few years John Adams represented many patriots who where charged with crimes by the British. Adams won all the cases that he represented.
  • The Patriots got so angry about the taxation on Tea, Glass, Paper, and Oil. In December 16, 1773 the Patriots rebelled and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. At this point Adams went to the first continental congress and told them the Patriots had to fight for freedom from the British.
  • John Adams had influence to make George Washington Commander of the army. In May 1776 the colonies declared independence. John Adams was then the head of the board of war.
  • John Adams helped draft the Declaration of Independence alongside Thomas Jefferson. After that he and Benjamin Franklin went to France to help get the French to fight with the U.S.
  • Treaty Of Paris
  • The Treaty Of Paris was negotiated in 1783. John Adams, Ben Franklin and John Jay helped help make this possible. This treaty official ended the American Revolution. John Adams had such a huge effect on the Revolution and America becoming independent.
