  • After a thorough engagement with other researchers we concluded on using a mixed method approach to investigate and provide a comprehensive understanding of the outbreak.
  • We will conduct a cross sectional survey among 500 residents of Springville to collect data on patient history and disease symptoms. we will seek to explore the perceived causes and risks of the outbreak.

  • We will get the secondary data from the hospital data and disease surveillance reports. Further more we will have in-depth interviews with HCW and local authorities.
  • We will also use triangulation to compare and contrast from qualitative and quantitative components. Lastly for ethical considerations we will obtain written consent from all participants and ensure confidentiality.

  • 1. Looking at the results from the survey we can see that 35% of our respondent are hesitant and this is because of non-scientific sources.
  • 3. So our strategy for intervention needs to involve the community, make sure that correct scientific information reaches the public. We can use community leaders and trusted local sources.
