- Hello, Everyone! My name is Jenn and I moved to Kelowna in 2019 from Surrey, where I had taught for 19 years. My experience is mostly primary, but I have also taught up to Grade 7, FSL, and been a TTOC. I am also a wife and Mom of 2!
- I miss friends and family in the Lower Mainland, but love the Okanagan, and it finally feels like home!
- Being a TTOC again after so many years has been challenging, but it also has allowed me to get to know schools in my new district. And I have been lucky to TTOC in Library a few times, and I really felt a connection and drive to explore becoming a TL.
- I started this year as a TTOC, then landed a job teaching K ONLINE from home! I have learned a lot about Virtual teaching!
- In November, the district moved us from home into cubicles, another huge learning curve to teach (and sing!) on Zoom while others around are also Zoom teaching. I am flexible!
- I have learned not just an abundance of tech tools in this job, but also how my patience and ability to think creatively have also come in handy!
- I have always loved books and reading, and try to use a "book hook" in every lesson possible! I am looking forward to this program! Nice "meeting" you all!
