- Shadrack is released from the facility where he's being treated.

- Shadrack marches every January 3rd through town ringing a cowbell and carrying a hangman's rope.
- SULA
- Celine's daughter, Nel, meets a girl named Sula.
- Sula and Nel were gonna take the train but didn't noticed that it was for white people only.

- Eva left her children with a neighbor for 18 months. Nobody knew she was gonna leave for more than a year.
- SULA
- When Eva comes back, she burns Plum, her son, to death after heserved in World War I.
- SULA
- Sula and Nel got threatened by Irish boys on their way home from school.
- Sula kills a young black boy named Chicken Little by throwing him into the river and disappearing under the water.

- Drugs destroyed my son.

- Hanna asks eva why she killed Plum and Eva tells Hannah how she relieved his pain by killing him.

- Hannah died on her way to the hospital because of a fire that Sula started.

- Nel marries Jude Greene. A boy she met in a job site.
- Sula left the wedding party. Nel didn't know that Sula left the Bottom for 10 years.

- Sula comes back to the Bottom after being 10 years out of town.

- Nel's marriage is over after she found Sula and her husband Jude together naked in the bed.

- Sula meets Ajax, a man who becomes her lover.

- But them she finds his driver license and sees his real name. She notice she's been lied to.

- Nel asks Sula why she slept with Jude which Sula replies that Jude simply "filled up the space".

- When Sula was in Eva's bed, she stops breathing and realized that she is dead. She knew that Nel was responsible for this.
- SULA
- Old Eva Peace, Sula's grandmother, was transferred to the new nursing home. Finally the dark cloud that was covering the Bottom was being lifted now that Sula Peace is dead.
- In National Suicide Day many people died due to the tunnel constructions. They gave the jobs to whites rather than to blacks and the townspeople got mad. Suddenly the tunnel collapses killing many of the townspeople.
