- CAR -T is a way to get immune cells called T cells to fight cancer by changing them in the lab so they can find and destroy cancer cells. But the cure rates are only 25 per cent.
- Could you explain further, doc?
- CAR T-cell therapy is a type of cellular therapy that mobilizes a patient's own immune cells to fight cancer. They're created by taking a specific group of cells from a patient's blood, altering them in the lab to boost the immune system's natural reaction against cancer, and then reinjecting them back into the patient.
- Yes, that's normal. It's because she has large amounts of chemicals called cytokines into her blood but she will be better in few months.
- Doc, is it normal for her to vomit and get a high fever?
