- FADE IN. EXT. THE REAL WORLD. THE PORCH. NIGHT
- Enter Nick. CLOSE UP.
- NARRATOR NICK I sit on the porch as I contemplate about my worthless life. I have been through so much in my life. I don't even know what it's like to be a kid. My mother left my father and me a few years ago because of my father's asshole ways. After that, he became an even bigger asshole. Alcoholic. Drug addict. Jjunkie. And, who is the target of his abuse? My mother don't even know what she did when she left us. But, how can I blame her? My father is an asshole. And she's happily married in California to some big shot. The least she could do was send a postcard every now and then. I haven't heard from her in over a year.
- ENTER MELVIN. CLOSE UP.
- Melvin storms out of the house, snapping Nicholas out of his train of thought. You can tell he had been drinking heavily. He reeks of alcohol and cigarettes. He stumbles, trying to maintain his balance. His speech is loud, slurred and vulgar as he yells obscenities at Nick.
- MELVIN (To Nick) Nick, you piece of shit! Didn't you hear me talking to you? I said to get in here and clean up this fucking house! No wonder no one likes your worthless ass.
- You never listen, and you ain't good for shit. The house better be cleaned by the time I get home. Or else, I'm going to whip your motherfucking ass.
