  • It was August 15, 2014 and Mr. Robert Jackson was taking a walk around the neighborhood. He passed an abandoned house and thought he heard a yelping. He looked over the fence and there he was laying down by his dead mother.
  • The owners left a week ago. Should I take to the Humane Society, it is estimated that 10,000 dogs are euthanized each year in Ohio. I called the Humane Society and the said to bring him in for a check up. After they released him to me the same day. A police report filed.
  • Mr. Robert Jackson stated, "Xander is nothing short of a miracle. Despite his meager surroundings, he is recovering well." He maintains an curious, but trusting disposition. He received a clean bill of health from the vet office and is enjoying his new home.
  • "Xander has become a fixture in my home," said owner Robert Jones. He is adjusting well to his new surroundings. According to Robert, "Xander now sleeps through the night." He is now the protector of the home.
  • Although this story has a happy ending. Xander can call this his new home. Many abandoned dogs are not so lucky to survive their horrific ordeal. He is important part of the family. I still can't understand why someone would abandon him.
  • Jane Smith, Humane Shelter Manager stated, "Thousands of dogs are abandoned every year in the local community. Most of them are mixed breeds and are in need of a good home. If interested contact the Ohio Human Society at 800-123-4567 for further information.
