Storyboard Text

  • Before the French-Indian war Native Americans were open to trading with Colonizers
  • Before the French Indian war all of the land past the Ohio River was conquered by the French and all of the land south of the Ohio river was owned by the British. However he British wanted the French's land.

  • When the French Indian war broke out the Cherokee Natives were attacked by the French, but the British refused to help causing war to break out that the British eventually won.
  • The British and French continued to fight which ended up lasting for seven years and is often reffered to as the ''Seven Year War''
  • Before the war the colonies were able to buy sugar from france without rediculously high taxes their goods. However, once the war came to an end and the English needed to pay for the cost of the war they began what was called the Sugar Act of 1764 which taxed all the sugar imported from France. The colonist believed that if they did not want to pay these taxes they shouldn't have to which consequently sparked the American Revolution.
  • Consequently, after the war, the Spanish were removed from Florida making the British feel safer. The British also took ownership of all the land past the Ohio River.
