  • I am a man of ancient Greece, and my view of light is shaped by my epoch's collective consciousness centering around the religion and the authority of gods. I see light as a mysterious and spiritual force that is beyond mechanical understanding.
  • As a renaissance man, and I see light as a purely mechanistic force. My belief is not due to my individuality, but rather because I am product of the hive mind of my time, informed by recent writings by Newton.

  • I am a contemporary man of the 21st century. Due to literature on optic theory such as Arthur Zajonc's Catching the Light, I understand that both the Ancient Greek's spiritual sense of light and the renaissance man's mechanistic view are equally valuable.

  • The bright sunlight today has drastically improved my mood and reduced my negative emotions. Why do you think this is? This aspect of light has not traditionally been covered in contemporary literature on the nature of light as I referenced in the previous panel.
  • Exactly what you are describing was found in a 2010 PMC study on light's psychological effects on the brain. More recently, in April 2025, Arash Mohammad-Moradi published a study finding that the the majority of light sensitive receptors in the eye impact non-image related functions in the brain such as circadian rhythm, and mood regulation.
