Storyboard Text

  • The captain, oiler, correspondent, and cook are stuck in a lifeboat after their ship sunk off the coast of Florida.
  • I can't believe my ship has sunk!
  • With a terrible storm and gigantic waves, the four men struggle to do their part in keeping their boat afloat. The correspondent and the oiler take turns rowing, the cook bails the water, and the captain directs the crew.
  • This storm is getting bad, Captain.
  • Everyone needs to work together so we can find land before we capsize.
  • The captain sees a lighthouse that is so far away that the other men have trouble seeing it.
  • Once they finally get close enough to the lighthouse, the men are confused as to why the people on land do not see them. Shortly after, they realize that the people cannot help them and that it is too rocky to reach land.
  • All four men feel defeated, but they do not give up hope. The search for land continues.
  • The sailors finally spot people on another island!
  • Oh no! Those guys are trapped! We have to help them!
  • The men know that they have to abandon their lifeboat and swim to shore. The people on land swim out to help them as well.
  • Everyone safely makes it to shore except for the oiler. Sadly he passed away.
  • Overall, the men never gave up hope and worked together to survive.
