  • I believe that reading is a vital part of life. You will have to read for your whole life. It is crucial that children are taught How to read at a young age. You will never stop reading. You read everyday. Before school, you might have read by using pictures. While in school, you learn how to read books. When you are out of school, you read many things. Adults read books, recipes and magazines. People never stop reading.

  • I looked forward to going to bed because I loved when my mom read to me.
  • When I was little, my mom used to read books to me every night before bed.
  • I really enjoyed doing this activity in school. It made learning how to read fun and enjoyable.
  • My teacher taught us how to start reading using “popcorn words”. These were cards on a ring with simple words on them. We had to recite these words and learn how to write them.
  • I used to go around the house and spell things. I would ask my mom for water and I would spell out words like water.
  • This helped me learn how to spell common everyday items. It also helped when I read.
  • My teacher read to us everyday. We would all sit on the floor and listen to her read.
  • My favorite books that she read were the Junie B. Jones books.
  • We also had to do AR.
  • This did not help me with my reading . I think this made me not enjoy reading. Today, I do not consider myself a reader.
  • Literature is very important in my life today. I enjoy reading to my little sister and helping her with her homework. She enjoys reading so we often read books together. Reading is also important in my life today because I have to read many books for school.
  • In my future classroom, I hope my students will enjoy reading. I hope to find a variety of fun activities to engage students to enjoy reading.
