- I don't think that I will be able to survive from smallpox.
- Two more people just died from smallpox. The situation is getting worsened day by day.
- I want to find a solution but how?
- Hmmm.....If I am right about what I am thinking then I must have found the solution for the problem.
- La La La
- Two centuries ago, smallpox which is a deadly disease became an epidemic. It started infecting a lot of people.
- I think that cowpox has prevented all these milkmaids from getting smallpox. I should really work upon this idea.
- Edward Jenner who was a scientist wanted to solve this problem. Due to this, he began thinking ways to cure the diseases.
- I hope that everything will be fine.

- One day, he observed Sarah Nelmes a milkmaid doing her daily work. He also observed her being infected with cowpox that day. Further, he noticed that milkmaids who get infected with cowpox do not catch smallpox even during epidemic.

- He began working on his observation.
- He injected James Phipps with scraped pus of cowpox blisters from the hands of Sarah Nelmes. James had a fever but there wasn't any sign of infection. Later, Edward injected James with a variolous material but James didn't caught any disease. Finally, a cure was found to the deadly smallpox.
- Thanks to Edward Jenner! Smallpox is no longer a deadly disease. Not only this, but due to this discovery of Edward a process of immunization through vaccines came into use. Today, many infectious diseases are prevented through vaccination and a lot of lives are saved.
