- EXPOSITION I was working part time at Sonny's BBQ in my senior year of high school. I worked with a classmate named Michelle, who lived with one of her friends.
- Hey Michelle!
- Hey Makenzie!
- INCITING INCiDENT One day after work, Michelle's friend's brother was waiting outside to pick her up. We had mutual friends and knew of each other from school. I made eye contact with him as I walked passed his truck. I decided to sent him a message to get his attention.
- She's kinda cute!
- I should text him...
- CONFLICT Johnathan asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. My dad finds out and is mad. He forbids me from dating until I graduate from college.
- Yes sir...
- YOU ARE NOT TO HAVE A BOYFRIEND UNTIL YOU ARE DONE WITH YOUR EDUCATION.
- RISING ACTION/CLIMAX I continued to date Johnathan behind my dad's back for a couple months. Everything is perfect. It's the night of my senior FFA banquet, both my dad and Johnathan are there. Against my better wishes, Johnathan introduces himself to my dad, this infuriates my dad.
- Hi! My name is Johnathan! I would like your permission to date your daughter.
- YOU WILL NOT DATE MY DAUGHTER! I WILL NOT ALLOW IT. DO NOT SPEAK TO HER AGAIN.
- falling action Johnathan and I continue dating. My dad knows, but still does not accept it. On the night of my high school graduation, my dad invites Johnathan to dinner and to meet the rest of the family. My dad accepts that Johnathan makes me happy.
- RESOLUTION After two and a half years of continued dating, me moving off to college and me moving back, Johnathan joining the army and going to basic training, we decided to get married. Now we've made it through five years together, three of those years married. Two of those years married, Johnathan was overseas. If we can survive my tyrannical father, we can survive anything.
