They sat to have dinner and the new setting of Zaroff's house is introduced. They speak about their backgrounds and how Zaroff is a renowned hunter.

The rising action starts to heat up as General Zaroff introduces his Most Dangerous Game. He states that he hunts humans on this island and it is named Ship Trap Island as he baits ships with a light to make them crash on his island.
Well done Rainsford, well done.
The main conflict is introduced and the climax is reached. Rainsford is told he will be hunted and he is told to run from the house and evade Zaroff for three days to earn his freedom.
Your time is over. Get ready to die General Zaroff!
Rainsford runs for his life for hours, and does an elaborate set of twists and turns in his path. However, Zaroff eventually finds him and pretends to not see. Rainsford realizes he is toying with him, and knows this will be harder than he thought.
Rainsford sets up an elaborate set of traps to put Zaroff off his tail, and by times. In this story there is not much falling action, and there is a constant feeling of climax, as it is thrilling reading the "game" going on.
Rainsford faked out Zaroff by pretending to kill himself by drowning, but instead waited until the third day to swim back to the mansion. He hid and eventually killed Zaroff in a fight in the resolution of this story.
