- Days later they saw a rabbit and all the dogs started chasing it. Nearby was another camp with many dogs, wich also began to chase him. When Spitz caught it, he threw it away and Buck was right behind. Spitz stopped and Buck it him. The moment had come when Buck knew that one of them would die. After a few minutes, Buck was covered in blood. spitz moved and bit him. Buck bit off the two front legs and then made his final attack and Spitz sank into the snow.
- The next day they went to Dyea Canyon and Spitz was leader, but Buck wanted to be.
- Now Buck was the leader.
- Perrault and Francois sold Buck and the other dogs to two gentlement.
- Bye Buck...
- After so much work the dogs were very weak and they were sold to two gentlemen, named Hal and charles.
- When Hal gave the order for the dogs to pull the sledge, they tried but failed.
- Then they took the dogs to their camp where they were escorted by a woman. this was Mercedes, the wife of Charles and the sister of Hal.
- The men broke camp and loaded all their luggage on the sledge but they did it wrong.
- The lazy animals!
- When they have to cross a lake they met John Thornton who told them they couldn't go but Hal ignored them and crossed but the ice brock and they drowned but Buck didn't want to cross and stayed with Thornton.
- When Buck lives with Thornton he learns to love. After searching for a while they find gold in a lake but at night Buck hears being and once he went into the forest, when he came back John Thornton had drowned in the lake.
