- We have created a plan to assassinate Caesar
- BRUTUS!
- Brutus, you been so distant and secretive lately. Why have you been such an awful husband lately?
- Cassius and I have gathered a group of men to assassinate Caesar at the Senate. Portia, you must keep this a secret.
- What should I do. I can't betray Brutus, but MURDER?
- How could Brutus put me in this position?
- I must warn Caesar
- (II,i)Cassius, Cinna, Casca and the rest of the conspirators meet at Brutus' house. They explain their plan to assassinate Caesar and Brutus agrees to do it. They are discussing their plan, when Brutus' wife, Portia bursts in, angry at her husband.
- Caesar, Brutus and Cassius, they're planning to kill you!
- I must leave. I will come back when it is safe.
- (II,ii)Brutus leaves the conspirators and talks with his wife in the bedroom. Portia is upset with Brutus, so Brutus tells her about the conspirators plan.
- How could you Portia!
- Caesar has fled. You will not kill him today.
- FOOLISH
- OH NO
- (II,iii)Portia is struggling with the information Brutus has told her. She eventually decides that killing Caesar is not the right thing to do and decides to intervene, despite her husbands wishes.
- WE MUST FIND BRUTUS AND CASSIUS!
- We will Antony.
- (III,i)Portia runs to the Senate building and arrives just in time. She meets Caesar just outside of the building and warns him about the conspirator's plan. Caesar decides to hide until it is safe for him.
- (III,i)Portia enters the Senate building and announces to her husband, his fellow conspirators and the senate members that Caesar has fled. Brutus is upset with Portia and feels betrayed.
- (III,ii)Word about the conspirators and their failed plan quickly spreads through Rome. All of the conspirators have been caught and imprisoned by Antony, except for Brutus and Cassius.
