- Hi Im Psycho Analytic. I'm taking a survey to see which mini mind is your most predominant, id, ego or super ego! Would you like to take it?
- Hi, Volun Tarism, nice to meet you. But no thanks. My mind is made up of elements not mini minds...
- What do you mean our minds are made up of elements?
- Well you see our minds are physically made up of different atoms and molecules to allow us to function.
- Yes. Our brains are chemically made up of atoms and molecules but the functions and processes of the mind go far beyond the physical aspects...
- Picture this: Our minds are like an ice burg...
- In what ways?
- We have three little minds that are competing for control in our heads, two on the surface (ego and superego) and one beneath the surface (id). Above the surface is conscious while beneath is below. Our id is all about pleasure while our super ego is idealistic, and our ego is our reality principle. They are all constantly competing to be in top control of us.
- Wow I never though about it like that. Maybe using my favorite technique I can dig down deep into my emotions to figure out a little more about these processes you're telling me about..
- Introspection? Isn't that a little too subjective?
- Well personally for me I think it makes great use of the scientific method! But that's the great thing about science... we are always brainstorming and sharing new ideas!
