- What topic do you want to pick for our project?
- I think we should choose water pollution. It is becoming a very big problem and I am interested to find out how we can help stop it.
- Sure I guess. I didn't know that it was that big of a problem.
- Let head down to the lake, maybe we can find some inspiration.
- Ok, sounds like a plan.
- Yes, that is a great example of water pollution. That would be great information to add to our project, considering we did talk about it in class.
- Do you Remember a few years ago when the town of Walkerton had contaminated water? Do you think that counts as water pollution?
- OMG! Do you see that?

- Ya, what is that gross green stuff?
- Ya, I do remember talking about it. Lets go to the office and see what we can find out.
- Hey, do you remember Mrs. B talking about toxic algae? Do you think that is what was in the lake?
- Water pollution: Harmful substances that get into our water and cause problems in the ecosystem. These substances can make water toxic to humans and animals(Nathanson, 2021).
- 1/3 of our freshwater is not safe for swimming, fishing, and drinking.
