- We'll make sure to teach her right from wrong
- We're going to raise her as best as we can.
- It's important to know how to read. You have to say your prayers every day
- If you know how to read well, you will get a proper education
- I want to live in Faraway Land. I'm sure that I can do magic too!
- My mother left me when I was three months old so I was raised by both of my grandmothers.
- Why me! Sometimes I just want to run away!
- Girl!! What are you doing in here!! You better get off the bed before I make you get off!!
- Both of my grandmothers encouraged me to read. They felt that in order to be successful you had to get a proper education. Reading was the key to getting there
- My prince, you have made me the happiest girl in the world!
- Hey Princess, marry me and let me take you away. You'll have every thing you want!
- I loved reading on the roof, no one can bother me here. I am the queen of this kingdom and I can do whatever I want! I can be anyone that I want to be!
- I just wish it wasn't so damn hot outside! I'm sweating like a pig

- Ayanna I'm so happy you came. It's always good to see you.
- I had to share a room with my cousin who lived to make my life miserable. I just wanted to read in peace, I wasn't bothering anybody.
- Sometimes I would dream of being like Cinderella. I would meet a prince who would marry me and take me away and we would live happily ever after.
- I miss and love you too granny. I hope to see you soon.
- I would visit grandma Rose at her house at least twice a week. Sometimes I hated the walk there because the sun felt twice as hot walking up that steep hill.

- I had no idea that your thoughts affect your life like that!
- We always end our visit reading the newspaper in her room sitting on the bottom of the bed. Sometimes we read to each other, sometimes we just read to ourselves quietly.

- Wow granny, I didn't know people lived like that!
- When I moved to Canada grandma Rose was one of the few people that wrote to me. I Iooked forward to her letters and I tried to keep them all. When I was homesick I would re-read them and I could hear her melodic voice in my head. I missed her so much.
- As an adult I no longer read fiction, I've become obsessed with learning about different spiritual practices, metaphysical laws, vegetarianism, plant and herbs.
- So if I do my inner work the outer will change!
- There's a plant to heal everything.
- Who knew meditation was so important!
- I love when you read to me mummy
- I love reading to you baby!
- But mummy, the third eye is real. It's just your pineal gland, we all have one!

- You are the creator, you can create change, you just have to believe!
- The only fiction I read now is in my youngest daughter's story books.
- Being the strict Catholics that they were, my grandmothers would certainly not approve of my current books. They would probably want to burn them.
- I now read to help to create a new reality not to escape from the one that I'm living in. I read to learn more about the Inner and Outer worlds and my part in all of it.
